Many in the American Catholic Church are living double lives — guided more by materialism than the Holy Spirit. If they were living ‘unity-of-life’, they might recognize that hiring an outside security firm to keep St. Patrick’s safe actually undermines the community there. It also furthers the separation between the clergy and the laity. A better way to take care of the Cathedral is for the community — united in truth and love — to do what needs to be done, organically, with its own members.
We encourage Archbishop Dolan to remove the security company working in the Cathedral, and return St. Patrick’s to the community to take care of.
