At last week’s 11/4 Opportunity Nation Summit in NYC, OC met Major General Marcia Anderson — the first African American woman 2-star General in the U.S. Army. In her talk, the General mentioned that she had attended Catholic schools, including college, and ended with an anecdote of St. Ignatius of Loyola (on faith) telling the people to go out and “set the world on fire.”

One way to honor the vets is to keep in mind that everyone has a job to do in keeping society free and ‘safe’ — and remember the words of R. Nathan (Ethics): “The supreme hero is he who converts a foe into a friend.”
