On this day we also recall the U.S. dropping a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, followed by one on Nagasaki, Japan, August 9, 1945. The deaths from both totaled over 250,000. Japan had tried to surrender earlier in 1945, but the U.S. was committed to “unconditional surrender”, which meant total destruction for Germany and Japan.
One of the physicists who worked on the Manhattan Project said at the time: ‘it would be better to lose the war than to win with nuclear weapons.’
In the years since, American foreign policy has been committed to disruption, domination and plunder (all in the name of freedom and democracy). The resulting weapons proliferation and gangster mindset has set the world’s table for catastrophe. Today the United States is a failed state ($200 trillion debt) that threatens the peace and stability of the world, and the lives of everyone.
The hell in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Gaza, Libya and Ukraine was made in the U.S.A.
A shooting war between NATO and Russia has to be unthinkable. Catholics in positions to do something should be acting to reign in the various parties. All should be praying and fasting for conversion and peace, while struggling to live truthfully.
