“For she said: if I shall touch but his garment, I shall be whole.” Mark 5:28

Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole.” Mark 5:34

Commenting on today’s Gospel (Mark 5:21:-43), a priest asked mass goers to repeat: “Fear is useless, what is needed is trust!”

Actually, “do not be afraid” presupposes “be afraid.” We should be afraid of sin and of offending God, especially the sin of presumption — while anchoring our faith (response) on truthful living. Like the woman in the Gospel, with the hemorrhage, who told Jesus “the whole truth,” before He healed her.
